Virginia reggae award winning artist iRon Lion leads The Knotty Lionz Band with classic and original reggae music!

The veteran sing-jay has opened for many reggae legends from Jimmy Cliff to The Wailers Band. He has also worked beside recent reggae Grammy winners such as Morgan Heritage and SOJA in their early days! Along the east coast USA is where he is most known for performing.

Being from the states he blends his r&b and rap background into his delivery often highlighting popular classics from the states in various genres over reggae riddims, for example you might hear "Knocking on Heavens Door" over  a reggae beat! He covers Bob Marley, Gregory Isaacs and many more reggae greats! He is also popular for his  original songwriting skills and stage presence!

A solid roots & lovers rock reggae sound system/performance trio! We all live in Virginia and have been performing in various reggae groups for over 20 years! 

Asante has backed me,  iRon Lion and others  as  a drummer and was the original drummer helping build Space Koi! His father toured as drummer with The Wailer's Band and AAE, well known RVA reggae legends. He also hired Joe(vox/percs) and me aka iRon Lion(bass/keys/vox), to be the lead singers in his own band The Razor Posse! We toured together in the late 90's, promoting the "First Time" cd! We were often seen in Virginia, NC and SC during this time and once in Nashville. The "First Time"cd was co-signed for production in Jamaica by Yellowman and the band opened shows for him in Wilmington, NC and other locations. Joe did the lion's share of lead vocals and blessed us with a serious reggae re-mix of Boys to Men's "I'll Make Love to You" and Betty White's "Tonight" to really target the r&b/ reggae lovers market in the states and around the world! I came in later as vocal support, iRon Lion!

Today, R.B.U. performs classic and original reggae music with hip hop,r&b and other influences mixed in! We add musicians from our extended reggae family to the stage when a bigger band is desired!

The group loves, travelling and meeting new people, especially reggae lovers! We're easy to book, as it's only three of us and we can always add more musicians from our camp if need be!
